Fairy Nails

I wanted to do a design with a girly, glittery, fairy-inspired theme; not sure it's very fairy-like but I like the end result :)

The colours don't show up that well in this light but I used a French manicure pink and then ColourTrend nail varnishes from Avon in glittery pink and green on top. Then I added the dots with a nail art pen and added Barry M glitter on top.

Fimo Nails

The Fimo nail art canes I ordered arrived today and I couldn't wait to try them out :)

I got 100 in a pack from Ebay for £3.49, I chose free postage and it turned up 5 days later. There's a huge variety; flowers, hearts, butterflies, smily faces, stars, fruit, bears, bows, Hello Kitty, a Mario mushroom, skull and crossbones,  and even the American flag :P Some of them are hard to tell what they are so I won't be using them, but the majority of them are good. There are so many, every time I look at them I see one I haven't seen before :)

I decided to try out fimo fruit nails as I'd seen them online a lot. The canes are so detailed, they're about 5cm long and you can get about 80-100 slices out of each one so you won't be running out any time soon! Seeing as this was my first try with it I cut my slices a bit too thick so they didn't stick down very flat and I could feel that they were on my nails, but my next few designs will be using them so I'll get better. I didn't buy a cutting blade with the pack as I have a craft krife which works just as well, but you can get ones specifically for them.

Next I'll be trying out some of the fimo flowers :D

Abstract Nails

I felt like doing a design with girly pinks and purples (and my new manicure pink) and I found inspiration from a photo online of one with lots of dots and lines in it.

Each nail was different and this one on my little finger was my favourite, not sure why :P Coming next will be my attempt at dry water marble nails :)

Matte Nails

I just got Rimmel London's Matte nail varnish and I tried it out with a stripey design. It works on any colour which works out way cheaper than buying each colour again in a matte version. Here I used it over Barry M's Bright Purple.

I love this polish; it opens up so many new looks using just one colour of varnish like stripes, polka dots and French tips :) This varnish was £4.49 from Boots which is at the top end of my budget for buying varnishes, but I think it's a worthy investment :P
